Nothing Has Changed II

The condition of society has not escaped the attention of even the most humanistic lifestyles. Eight years ago, after moving to a different state, news reports were dominated with sexual abuse being instigated by teachers and staff of local schools. In addition, there were reports regarding the same being instigated by those who had charge of the spiritual well-being of local churches. Most recently a barrage of shootings, almost daily, are not uncommon. Theft, home invasions, domestic abuse and a myriad of civil and social crimes permeate the air ways: as of this date two caregivers are imprisoned for the death of a four-year-old child, and a woman incarcerated for the death of her daughter is presently in court. Thus, crime of all sorts does not come as a surprise, and in response, the name of God is blasphemed among the ungodly for not acting against those responsible, or among the pseudo-religious the condition of society is a preamble to the end times. Realistically, Solomon said, “That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun” (Eccl. 1:9).

What seems to be an onslaught of ungodliness and unrighteousness, i.e., injustice, has been prevalent “right under society’s nose.” Research indicates that cognitive thinking is a growth process, i.e., “Under most laws, young people are recognized as adults at age 18. But emerging science about brain development suggests that most people don't reach full maturity until the age of 25.” “So, for instance, a 20-year-old is 50 percent more likely to do something risky if two friends are watching than if he's alone” (Sandra Aamodt, neuroscientist and co-author of the book Welcome to Your Child's Brain; NPR Interview). The general thinking is…… : “Most of the privileges and responsibilities of adulthood are legally granted by the age of 18. That's when you can vote, enlist in the military, move out on your own, but is that the true age of maturity? A growing body of science says, no. That critical parts of the brain involved in decision-making are not fully developed until years later at age 25 or so” (Ibid.). Thus, what is just now being recognized as a problem has been, and will be throughout the generations of mankind. As a result, there are many ramifications: “Gender dysphoria occurs when there is a conflict between the gender you were assigned at birth and the gender with which you identity (sic? identify, author). This can create significant distress, and you may feel uncomfortable in your body. The Center for Gender Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital offers gender affirmation surgery services to eligible adolescents and young adults who are ready to take this step in their journey. It is the first center of its kind in the U.S. in a major pediatric hospital setting.” And for this they are proud: (https://www.childrenshospital.org/programs/center-gender-surgery-program). Let’s see, “This can create significant distress, and you may feel uncomfortable in your body.” Well, duh! How many adolescents and young adults do not “feel uncomfortable in (their) your body?”

What are some causes related to the condition of society (locally, and worldwide)? A failure to: “Fear God, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters.” (Rev. 14:7). “Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah” (Lev. 19:32); “Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise), that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth” (Eph. 6:2-3); “Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king” (1 Pet. 2:17). As a result of an absence of the characteristics, the shedding of innocent blood will continue. Parents! Take note of your responsibility: “The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother” (Prov. 29:15); “He whose spirit is without restraint Is like a city that is broken down and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). Do your job!
