Facing Trials
Everyday you will face various trials. Individuals that attempt to undermine the gospel through their questionings: “Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Pet. 3:4).
Let us not be disheartened by the careless utterances of the ungodly knowing that “the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men” (2 Pet. 3:7).
What is the child of God to do? “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.” (2 Pet. 3:14).
Consider to Whom it is You Belong
Considering to whom it is we belong it would behoove the child of God to govern their life accordingly. Paul admonished the brethren in Ephesus, “to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:1-3). Therefore, “grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.” (Eph. 4:30).
